Facebook API

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

Wanna make some money?  Make a facebook application.  People who have made them and inserted ads have already made thousands.  All you have to do is make a good application that millions of people want to use, throw an ad or two in there, and VOILA you will see dollar signs.

Honestly, the API is not that hard to figure out, you host the materials you call on your own server, you just have to follow their guidelines for privacy, and use their psuedo programming code to make calls to their database.

Good Luck!

Site Statistics API - Compete

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

Compete is a site statistics API that you can place on your website. It will give you tons of data about what is happening with your users. Its the stuff you can’t see happening that makes the difference.

If you find out that people are finding your site through search term “grey geese with orange beaks” instead of “grey goose” you can make decisions about how you word your content. You may want to put more “grey goose” in your site. BTW, more Grey Goose in my Orange Juice, please.

Compete has a complete API, they give you your data, and you can do with it what you want. The downfall is that they require you to give them credit if you use the data on your site. So, if you make a graph, you have to put a Compete.com logo on the graph. Yeah I know! You made the graph, but they gave you the data…So, if you want the data in a graph, give them credit.

Add AIM to your site

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

From the site:

“You can integrate the full power of the AIM service into any program that you create. For example, you can give users the option to send and receive messages on the AIM network in that next killer app you’re building. You could even create a client specific to your company, community or school.”
